Hmm? It should state in the instructions for the faucet whether it can be used as a single unit. If the actual on/off is separate, then of course you couldn't.

What type of sink? If stainless, you might be able to add additional holes. I know that Ikea actually sells a tool to cut holes "for their stainless sinks".....I'm not a pro, so I'm not recommending this for you. Just some info.... maybe it can be done.

A picture of the faucet and sink would help or a link to each product. That will get you much more info. If you can supply the additional info, I will do my best to help you. I just recently installed a faucet and sink.

Its a ceramic sink, so can't put additional holes. I will read instructions for the faucet to see if it can be used as a single unit. Looks like it would be less stress to just buy a new faucet.

If it is a single unit with just a long mounting plate, then yes.... you probably can mount it as a single. Definitely check the instructions. :) Especially if you really like the faucet. Don't give up! ;)

A single unit would have the shut off actually on the faucet itself. Meaning not a separate unit/piece for the on/off. (hot/cold)

If the link you posted is the faucet you purchased, if you look at the installation instructions on Delta's website, it requires more than one hole to install. You will need to return it and get a single hole faucet to fit the sink.
