I think that your furniture looks nice. With four little kids I would probably try to hold off replacing it until the kids are older.

Get drapery panels for the windows. Replace the coffee table with a black rectangular one. Get some table/floor lamps.

I have no outlets in the middle of the floor... Do you mean for near the walls?

You may not be taking full advantage of your vertical (go up!) space. Looks like you need storage. In the corner between the windows, get a tall closed storage unit for toys on the bottom and other storage. Make sure to get storage that's user friendly for kids.

Move the long narrow table you have in front of the window to in back of couch next to column. That's a better spot for it. (doesn't block traffic flow.)

Switch out wood coffee table for round ottoman. It's a lot softer for youngsters to bump into!

You have so many doors on every wall, makes it really hard doesn't it. . . . Wonder if a couch and a couple of chairs would be easier than the sectional. . . . ? I would imagine you have allot of window glare on your television screen too. . . Tough room to decorate. Wondering about a wall from the support post to the end of where the sectional is, would give you a wall to put a TV on, and turn the sectional where the TV is now?

The mother of 4 boys says stick with round side tables and coffee table- one less ER visit. I think you have done a great job with awkward room. I'd consider a corner book case by the front corner and two bookcases flanking TV. Drapes and kids don't always play well together- grubby adorable hands filled with peanut butter comes to mind. If you do get drapes, think washable! Faux linen can be tossed in washing machine. Look into Flexsteel furniture in the future. The fabric can handle any kid and it is well constructed. Wish I had it 19 years ago!
