This room is actually 99% complete. It was a complete gut job. The wooden plank feature wall we discovered after removing the old vertical wood paneling. I decided to paint it white since it was really hard to get the water stains out from a previous leak. We suspect that this was actually some sort of outdoor space at some point since the concrete slab was pitched from the house which made it very awkward to place any furniture on the floor. We leveled it and then just installed Flor carpet tiles over it to add some warmth. We opened it up to the rest of the house since it always felt very detached.
We also vaulted the ceiling slightly to give it some extra height.
This room does not have any source of heat/air and we couldn't connect to the existing ductwork.
It actually stays very cool in the summer months but cold in the winter.
My plan is to install a freestanding gas fireplace since it already has an existing gas line where the desk currently sits.
I have three options that I'm considering. Please let me know your thoughts?
