Robins gone: migrating south already?

Last weekend I enjoyed hearing and looking at about 4 or 6 local robins, bobbin' around my garden. This weekend, they've disappeared! Other birds are still here: catbirds, sparrows, blackbirds. Is this the normal time for robins to begin moving south?

Don't think so, although I'm no bird expert. We still have loads of them up here and a pair raising their second brood this season.

Maybe yours are vacationing in another yard this weekend?

We have robins that live year round and as a matter of fact we have a nest right out next to our garage door that has babies that hatched this past weekend! They're still here.

How I wish our robins had stuck around! We had one nesting pair in a nearby Maple tree and they raised at least 2 babies. But after last weekend (we are there only on weekends) they are gone. No little corpses in the yard, so I assume they've flown to another base. Like us, I guess: one residence on weekdays and another on weekends. But I have mementoes of their stay, a couple of blue eggshell pieces.
