Only time will tell, Austin. I'd say that it depends on the porous quality of a good potting medium, a conservative fertilization program, and plenty of sunlight. You did the right thing in your pruning.

You can grow them from cuttings. I started mine in water. When they had enough roots I planted them in pots. I would advise you to take a 4-6 inch cutting. Strip all of the leaves off of the stem that will be under water. It takes a month or more for the root to appear.

@zzackey would that include the woody part of the branch? Because the branches are only about 2-3 inches that are not woody, and the rest are pretty much woody.

Not the woody part. You can root the soft part by take 3" cuttings. I started mine in a small vase of water on a northern window by accident. I cut too much for a beef stew. I left the extras in the water and they rooted. After they had good roots I planted them in a 4" pot.

I'll try that. Is the 4" pot the permanent pot for your rosemary? Or will you transfer it to something bigger later on?
