Pretty kitchen! Beautiful floors. For me, I'd need more color. I'd probably pick a color, like green or maybe a couple of colors and add it. An area rug under the round table, (I know a lot of people will disagree, but...) I'd do an inside mount roman shade to add color to the windows, then I'd add a cannister set, a large platter on the fume hood cover, maybe an art glass bowl for the island...something that is easy to move out of the way when working at the island. I'd also look into coordinating hand towels to use on the oven door handle.

Rosemary topiaries in clay pots would be lovely. I also like those big wooden trenches for fruit. French dish towels... .Coucke or Le Jacquard have gorgeous ones. Maybe a Persian rug. Maybe a wall clock somewhere. Next to the stove a hotel silver pitcher or loving cup for utensils, as well as a pepper grinder and a small piece of open French crockery or crystal to hold kosher salt. Elsewhere a basket to hold oils, vinegars, honey.

A bread box or basket: I love my two tiered one

A wood and marble cheese board... Saw one recently at terrain. Lovely propped against the wall. Or maybe a huge round thick Boos butcher block.

OOh, and a teapot .. copper, or a fun enamel from Creuset. Just got a turquoise one for the beach on ebay. And a Dualit toaster of course, they are the prettiest and I love the creamy one.

I would mount window boxes or a ledge under the windows and have an herb garden there. Dust collectors on the counters would bug me.

    And a bowl of fruit.

Great kitchen. I would stay away from anything that would take up too much counter space that close to the stove. You need the areas under the windows for your big pans of lasagna and cookies!

I have a couple of small decorative things on our hood mantle, but find that I keep putting frequently used spices up there- so darned convenient! also, a cool olive oil spritzer/decanter would be convenient!

think the idea of rosemary topiaries is awesome, but don't know how they hold up if you use rosemary... any herbs that you use regularly would be nice! I'm going to see if my chives will grow nicely indoors or not when it gets cold here because I love using garlic chives!

a nice bowl, basket or trough of fruit for the island would look beautiful!

You have a beautiful space and I hope you won't just put whatever you can find into spots just to put it there...instead, take your time to find treasures you love or enjoy. Topiaries are nice, I too would prefer rosemary.

Persian rug in the kitchen? You must not have kids! Its a beautiful kitchen, are the cabinets white or cream?

I am more of a minimalist in terms of kitchen "decor"....I like the idea of rosemary topiaries in front of the windows & a rough hewn bowl of fruit on island. I would not put anything on the mantle...reads cluttery to me. I do like the idea of the silver pitcher and/or loving cups to hold utensils because I adore anything sterling, but I wouldn't put much more on those gorgeous counters! I'd store all the practical mess away and just let my eyes feast on that lovely kitchen each day.

Spectacular kitchen Nothing on the hood. How do you plan to store knives and stove utensils? A color glazed crock by the range could be nice. Don't like the idea of topiaries. Maybe some frosted colored glass containers for color. Keep any items simple and purposeful.

I would leave the mantle clear of anything. That is one gorgeous kitchen and I LOVE your gateleg table!

    Beautiful kitchen!!!!

What is at the other end of the room?

Do you mind me asking the walkway width from counter to island on each side. I love the table.

Does the space open up to any other room view? If so what type of decor do you have going on in those spaces?
