I agree with an area rug needed. I also think the coffee table is too small/delicate compared to the furniture. Something with more substance and some wood would be pretty. Do you have enough light at night with the current configuration?

An area rug will pull things together. I would hang the painting (very nice choice BTW) about 6 inches from the top of the sofa. The item to the right of the sectional - is that a part of the wood base of the sectional? If so, you should add 3 books & perhaps a table lamp. Ideas for a different ottoman too:

Love, love, love minimalist when done right. Yours is very nice. Make the rug very large with front feet of both the sectional & chair well onto it.

No need for an area rug. I know we are sorta trained to want them, but there is nothing easier to keep clean (and minimalist looking) than a nice bare wood floor.

Lower the painting and add a lamp. In this one picture I do not see any lamps. Maybe a clean-lined arc lamp?

I like the idea of the round ottoman or table as a contrast to all the linear pieces and it would facilitate movement. I also love the idea of the arc light...add light and some vertical interest as well as being a beautiful modern piece. Yes, lower the Golden Gate Bridge:) and I agree with the area rug..yes it adds an element to keep clean but for the visual interest, grounding of group and potential beauty I say yes! Good Luck.

I woudl skip side tables and add a really large square coffee table, that can be reached no matter where you sit, so practical and really modern. You could also move the white chair to be facing the window and add a large industrial type floor lamp to the end of the couch that was near the single chair and I think the room will feel more balanced.

If you don't want a rug, you need a much larger square coffee table.

I'm so glad you asked about window treatments. It's so easily over looked, but window treatments really do complete a design. To stay with your style, I would suggest shades instead of drapery panels. We are a dealer of Hunter Douglas, and they really do have a great range of products. Roller shades and Duet shades come to mind for the most sleek design. Besides style, they are great UV protection on your furniture, and energy efficiency.

You have a beautiful space! To pull the room together, you can add some accent pieces in a darker color to ground the whole look. Since the base of your sectional is black (can't tell the true color based on your photo), I recommend finding strong accessories in the same color.

Taking a look at the windows, noticed that the art of bridge looks too high. Doesn't matter how high ceilings are...art should be at eye level. Eyeballing it, I would say lower it around 8 inches.
