Need suggestions on custom rug/carpets for kitchen floor

Our gorgeous hardwood floor is showing wear and tear in the high traffic area of our kitchen. It is an irregular-size area and we want to protect it from further damage with something beautiful and easy to clean, but we're having a hard time finding custom carpeting options. Got ideas? Know of a place that offers custom carpeting with beautiful patterned options?

Our floors are Australian brush box, a type of eucalyptus.

HI Chris, Any luck finding one yet? I have always had a hard time with rugs in the kitchen because I tend to be a messy cook with messy eaters. :)

I so usually find a runner to place along the wall with my sink to help some of the wear there.

You can try www.flor.com. You can have them cut down to make custom sizes, they are easy to clean and replace, and I think they have great patterns for a kitchen. Good luck and I hope that helps!

So glad to help! I have them in my home and really like them. One tip, order EXTRA of the stickers that hold them together. About every month my high traffic areas shift just a bit and I like to peel them off and put fresh ones on. At the same time I do a little cleaning too. Take pics when your done!!

I use a long runner against my sink and dishwasher area and it has worked very well--i have black granite and oak colored cabinets in my kitchen. i actually found a oriental style one with some beautiful deep reds at Ross for under $20 and it has held up very well :) but completely understand if custom is the way you want to go.
