Sey, when you chose your plants did you choose varieties that would like the PNW? Just wondering if your unusually hot June has anything to do with you lack of fruit.

Everyone raves about Kelloggs Breakfast, but when I grew it I found it stingy and was not enamoured with the taste. I'd yank them out now!

Some of them are late season varieties so side-by-side isn't a valid comparison. For example BC is 65 days while 4th is 49 days. Even with the approx. nature of DTM I would not expect them to be close in terms of production times.

As for the Big Beef, as often discussed here in the past no OP version of a commercial hybrid is genetically the same as the original hybrid so again comparing them for timing of production isn't really valid. It probably shouldn't even be called Big Beef but Gary doesn't give a DTM for his OP version.

So assuming all are healthy plants otherwise I wouldn't pull them but would give them more time. That way you know for sure for future reference.

I was not trying to compare but give an indication how things stand..

I didn't say that Big Beef (OP) should be shoulder to shoulder with F1. . The former has ZERO fruit the latter is loaded and ripening.

Even Late Season ones should've had some fruits after nearly 3 months from plant out (90 days).

The only probability to blame all this on maybe that we had very hot June and early July. But heck, they grow these tomatoes in Texas. heh.

OK , I will take your advice and give them a little more time.

After all, my reason for planting more than 24 new varieties has been to pick and choose the varieties based on production and taste. But I am MOST disappointed with KB, since it is one of the two yellow/orange. Luckily the other one (Azoychka) is doing great.

I killed one yesterday and I feel a lot better.

It was a Big Beef (OP) planted around out on about April 20 ( 99 days ago) and it had "ZERO" fruits. Plust it was supposed to be indet but turned out det.

I also cut/pruned some of the branches on KB, that is growing like an aggressive weed wit "ZERO" fruits so far. Same story with Arbuznyi and Druzba.In the same bed Siletz, Legend and Willamette are doing great.

Black Cherry has at least a few fruits but I lightened up that one two.

Bear Claw , move it. Its getting close to your turn. hahaha

It feels good with all the frustration purged. hehe

Sey, My friend grows nothing but Early Girl. They aren't the best tasting but he has so many tomatoes that the production makes up for it. I tell him they aren't that great as I'm looking at 50 tomatoes sitting on the counter from 4 plants. Early Girl IS a very good tomato for this region. I might have it on my list for next year, or maybe Better Boy, as they are about the same but bigger.

Better Boy in my location has a wonderful juicy, fully balanced tomato taste and nothing like Early Girl's flavor which is somewhat more fibrous and more acid, for which it is benched on my grow list in the near future. It is quite wet and humid here, and EG gets a nice sweetness in drier farming. BeB does well when it gets cool (it even tastes good at cooler temps; EG fails in cool weather).

So sorry to hear that. It did well setting in heat for me. It did make an excellent pico de gallo last week, and I just had three ripe ones in my salad tonight. I didn't like 'em in the salad all that much, but they were good producers...will grow again,

Thanks Vince and PC. On your recommendation , probably I will go with Better boy. I grew EG in 2013. I was not impressed with it.

But on the positive note so far I have few winners : Willamette , Azoychka, Black From Tula, Mini Roma, Big Beef (F!) and Brandy Boy. . I also have my repeats:

== CP, ANANAS NOIRE, MR. STRIPY, RED CHERRY, SILETZ, LEGEND and JBT.

Oh, yeah . I forgot the dwarfs. I have several good ones : I think I am set for the next season choices.
