Your cabinets have yellowed. That happens over time. It's actually the finish that has yellowed. I would replace your doors with a cleaner style and sand and refinish your cabinets. If it's not in your budget to replace them, then finishing will do the trick.

agree with above. The cabinets are dated. If they are still in good shape and functional, I would re-finish. This costs about half of what it would be to replace them. The floor needs to be changed as well. If you re-stain the cabinets dark, then go light on the floor. If you go light on the cabinets, then go dark on the floor. You could do a laminate on the floor if budget is a concern, they make some amazing laminate these days that look like hardwood. And change the curtains for blinds. This picture is of my kitchen (my cabinets also were that honey oak) I had them refinished to this wonderful chocolate espresso stain. With new countertops and backsplash, I think it looks great! The oak raised panels seem a bit dated. Consider re facing them and also consider removing the 4-6 inch Backsplash and re do with a full height tile design..

Refacing or even just painting your cabinets (white or cream) would be a great update. Definitely replace the curtains, but hang your blind at least as high as the top of your cabinets, it will make your window look bigger and more balanced. Get rid of the area rug in front of the sink. Change the cabinet hardware to stainless to match your new appliances. A grey or taupe grey would be a nice contrast to painted cabinets and current floor tile (which I think is fine). I agree with Jared on the backsplash but a darker paint color closer to your countertop color would also camouflage that gap if you don't want to replace.

If your previous appliances were white switching to stainless probably darkened things up. With your light floors and dark granite having your cabinets painted white/cream is a good option.

Depending on your budget paint your cabinet doors. Houzz has some great examples. Try to go light with a color such as cream, that is in your granite. Then do some backsplash with tiles or glass. With the cabinets light your walls can be a light blue with a blue and cream valance.

if you change your mat to something new and sleek, and same with your pink curtains, you may like the changes. when we cant change the big things, go for the little things!
