Is that green in the drapes I can’t tell. If not you need to get something that ties the green wall to the rest of the space an area rug or drapes that have that same color a couple of pillows on the sofa with another color besides the green a nice arc light over the coffee table some art work on that wall that little piece of art or pics on the taupe wall needs to be hung much lower and you need something in the bare corner maybe a nice plant I would look at a different coffee table maybe a small rectangle this rug might be fun it would give you a couple more colors to work with.

The black tv stand needs some balance. Try a darker curtain rod and maybe a darker coffee table. Take down the small white frame, its lost there. Get a rug and start picking out some art. Two more chairs

I'm wondering why you painted the accent wall before you decided on the rest of the decor. Paint comes in infinite colors; we match paint to the furnishings, not the other way around.

That said, I'm going to play in your room a bit. I'll be back later with a visual that I hope will help.

The drapes are green. And i will remove that white frame.

    @groveraxle
You have blown me away with these images and actually we had the whole decor before with the paint but I didn't like it at all so decided to change it all.

Tv stand is chocolate brown, i am planning on painting it white. What do you guys say white or light brown stain?

You could also try to place the TV unit on the green wall and turn the sofa ,facing the TV ,if there is enough room of course:) I like groveaxle's ideas .

Genieve this was the old set up. I hated it. Sorry about kids being in every picture.

I would recommend maximizing the drama, interest, and lighting of the green wall by making it a conversational focal point by filling it from floor to ceiling/wall to wall with a large variety of artwork (with any framed art having wide white/cream mattes to complement the curtains and dark frames to give a museum effect). I would suggest adding a large area rug that includes the taupe, green, and white/cream in a large, bold pattern (to complement the sofa, wall, and curtain colors) and adding a large white/cream contemporary upholstered chair to the left of the entertainment center with a pillow that includes taupe and green.

following. You've done it again, Grover, I like rug #3.

Tayyaba, a couple things wrong with the previous arrangement. First, it looks like a waiting room with the chairs all lined up on the right. Second, the dark entertainment unit against the green wall sort of defeats the purpose of a focal wall.

Is there room in your current arrangement to put the settee at right angles to the couch so it faces the green wall, then put one of the chairs on the corner of the chaise?

Why don't you try that, shoot a photo and upload it here, and if the arrangement works, we'll be ready to talk about colors and accessories.

Texture will help add interest to the room. As said above, bringing the green and beige of the sofa together in the rug will be important. The right rug could really make the space.

I agree grover that old set up was very unpleasant. I got rid of the chairs and thinking of buying one from Ikea

And now i have to search for rug, a big artwork and some pillows and will post pictures once i am done. Thanks everyone.

Here's a rug on sale from West Elm (chair is also from West Elm):

Tayyaba, I'd go with a leggier chair instead of the Tullsta.
Something with less visual weight like the Poang would look better, plus
    the Poang is super comfortable.

Also, I would suggest looking elsewhere for the rug. Ikea's rugs are pretty small and I'm guessing you need at least 8 x 10 ft.

If you like the black and white rug, IKEA's Stockholm rug comes in 8x11. Have you tried the chairs from the previous arrangement in the new layout? I like them better than IKEA's and they could look completely different with a bright colored pillow.

Sadly i sold those chairs but i tried them they weren't very comfortable.

I have found going to a carpet store and buying a remnant piece or clearance priced a better deal then some of the big box stores and at times even IKEA. They usually bind the size I need for little additional $$. Usually better quality rug and longer lasting - I have three kids under 7.

You must love your children and have a bold sense of style so how about custom pop art of your kids for the accent wall?
