Are you doing a cost plus contract then where that would be disclosed to you? Or are you doing a fixed cost where only the bottom line number s important?

20% has long been a standard for quality GC's.

A premium contractor is going to charge a premium rate. I would concentrate on the value I'm getting, not the percentage I'm paying.

In LA, my GC is charging 20%, which he claims is discounted from his usual rate of 25%, since he's done previous work for me.
