I live in the east bay, and I'm planning on remodeling my master bath with the same contractor who remodeled my hall bath. The quote on the master bath is $7600 labor and involves gutting/relocating plumbing, relocating and building travertine shower and installing a whirlpool tub. He is also relocating a window and reconfiguring walls and creating a closet to the master bedroom, and relocating electrical outlets. I'm assuming this is a good or even great price for the labor, being a total gut job that it is. But should I still get bids from local contractors just to be sure it's in the right ballpark? I'm not to up to date on the current labor fees for this type of construction. Would appreciate any input.
