I don't think it looks "bad" by any stretch. Could have been a bit bigger but again that is a structural consideration at that point and will delay stuff. I definitely would not piecemeal it together. That will look cheap and like and afterthought.

I hope that framing is not finished as I do not see any sort of a header there? As well as the lack of vapor barrier/waterproofing?

I think the proportionality of the window is great. A larger window would eat up too much of the wall.

Sorry for not saying earlier that I too think the size is perfect and larger would be over powering.

Millworkman - no the framing is not finished. In fact our contractor is going to lower it about six inches b/c it's currently a little too high.

Thanks for talking us down on this. It seems like we've second guessed every decision we've made on this remodel, so it helps to hear other people's opinions.

As a designer, the window size looks fine to me as well. Leave some space for a photo of Gramma.

+1 , looks nice. I can see a minor concern due to that window size/orientation on the left (looks larger), but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. It looks very proportional for the space that it is in IMO.
