It's beautiful! What is the name of the quartz?

Hi Jeff, Do you think I can use the carrera mable or travertine subway tile it my new kitchen? Do you think it would be to busy? The reason being I have a kitchen that look pretty much the same as this: kitchen https://www.houzz.com/photos/truly-transitional-contemporary-kitchen-baltimore-phvw-vp~4547740 . I fell in love with it and pretty much copied it. I have the same color cabinets and the same multi color porcelain slate tiles on the floor. My counter top is lg viatera color thunderstorm: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/lg-viatera-dsvw-vd~1316409 It's more grey. As you can see they used glass subway tiles in their kitchen. Much more plain and simple. My husband and son think I should go with glass or porcelain subway tiles in a light grey. What is your opinion. Thanks

The Quartz is Viatera brand by LG Corp. The color is called "Natural Limestone" Viatera has a a great color palette and typically is available at a good price.

Marianne, you have many options. Sounds like you want a little color pop and the guys want to play it safe. How about a compromise? What you may want to try is using the same tile as the floor but have that cut in to subway tiles. That way you are not expanding the color palette of the room but still providing some pop. You may also want to look into a range that has the controls in front. That way it wont chop up the back splash. The attached picture shows a back splash that we made from a floor tile. Hope that helps.

Hi Jeff, Actually I got a new gas stove with the controls in the front. It's a samsung and it's a beauty. Actually the floor I have the Unicom Starker multi color comes in tiles as well. I know that they sell them in the random long size tiles and I'm hoping they have them in subway tiles as well. I really like that idea and I'll let you know what my son and husband think. One more question, what size would you say the subway tiles in the picture you sent me?

They were approximately 3" X 6". They were cut from 12" 12" tiles so a little was lost in the cutting process. If fact our supplier was down to his last 50 square feet from that die lot (those particular tiles are porcelain) so he gave us them and just charged us to cut them. It turned out to be quite economical.
