Looks like you have blue in your art and some pillows and I would look for a mid range blue vs going too light or dark.

You don't think it is too dark? It breaks the room up for me. It screams "Look at me", when I want to look at the whole room. But I guess that is what an accent wall is supposed to do. :-)

Yes, that is what an accent wall is all about...I would add floating shelves to each side too;)

If you want just one big neutral room than paint the wall the same Manchester tan.

I agree with Margo on the floating shelves and Studio 10 on the artwork. You could even rest the artwork on the floating shelves, just make sure it's big enough because that's a large expanse of wall and the fireplace is large too.

What size shelves - should they span the whole wall? And how many?

My opinion is one shelf on each side not touching the walls, but coming close to them, say about 6"-10" away in total.

Blue/gray/green or a charcoal gray... :)

If you keep the brown wall, I would use a creamy white shelf.;)
