Rug Size, shape and placement

This is my breakfast nook. I'm standing in the kitchen. Right door is the laundry room. Back door and window to patio. Left is open to the family room. Table centered under light. Husband wants a rug. Should I do a round that fits under the table only or an area rug that covers that section including in front of the door or make other suggestions please.

PRO11 years agoI vote for no rug. Table is large for the area (looks like you have to move the table to use the chair that's up against the wall) and to get a rug with all the chairs located upon it is going to take a large rug whether it's round or square.
