I have an angled cabinet. It has a super susan (which I love), and a drawer above it (which I also love). I have a little MW (round in the back, so it tucks into the corner) above it, and the angled corner means I still have some counter space in front of the MW.

I also have drawers on each side of a closed off corner. I can't open adjacent drawers at the same time, but that hasn't been a problem for me - I can only take out or put away one thing at a time anyway.

I realize that lots of people don't care for angled cabinets, but I've been very happy with mine since I put in a new kitchen 2 years ago. I think the super susan give me a lot more storage than if I had drawers in the corner.

I have an island with an angle right now so I know about only being able to open one side at a time. I just like drawers better than doors, and I like how the island curves around me while I prep food. I just was wondering if there's some horrible downside that everyone but me knows. (I'm considering building a house with a G shaped kitchen and I really like the idea of angled corners. Probably one would have a prep sink and the others drawers).

The house I am in now had a corner sink and I hated it because it was so hard to reach the corner. My cats aren't allowed on the counters, but they would sit in that corner and stick their tongues out at me! Without a stool, I couldn't reach the buggers! I'm 5'6", and my arms just didn't reach! I had to stand on a stool to wipe the counter in the corner. After removing the cabinets, I realized how much space the angled corner cabinet took. I decided to move the sink and replace the angled cabinet with a corner shelved cabinet(took me a long time to decide on the style of that cabinet, but now that it is in, I am so pleased with it!). I have two windows in the corner though, so i didn't have to worry about the uppers. Maybe mock up where the cabinet would come out and see if you can reach the corner, if you think that would bother you?

I have three corner drawers in 2 corners of my kitchen and I love them. The bottom 2 are each 12" tall. I don't seem to have a problem with them banging into the adjacent drawers (I only have drawers in the lowers), I guess I only open one draw at a time. I never thought about it possibly being a problem. They are deep drawers front to back and hold a lot. I checked out other options for the corners such as a lazy susan but loved the simplicity of the corner drawers. I didn't make the corners angled. As you can see the drawer front continues the right angle of the corner.

I'm not too concerned about reaching behind the sink as I think that will be a second smaller sink in the corner of the peninsula, so I will be able to clean from the other side. For the other two, I'll have to do a test to see how far I can reach.

I've seen those drawers as well, but I think I prefer flat face over them. Easier to stand against.

We have a U-shaped kitchen and we deaded out both corners to gain more drawer space and have no regrets.

by "deaded out" do you mean just sealed them off?

I believe we may still have access to the corners if we removed the drawers.

Another possibility. Roll out with storage for seldom used behind.

That's really cool practigal! Is there some sort of latch to keep it from rolling out when you open a drawer?

That is very cool if there are walls behind both legs. In my former home, the long side was an exterior wall, but the short side (where the range is in practigal's photo) was the peninsula and the family room was on the other side of the peninsula. So we had a corner that was "dead" in the kitchen, but we put in drawers on the family room side to use that space. I don't have a good picture of it, but in this photo, the drawers would be to the far left on the family room side of the peninsula, and in the kitchen -side corner were the dishwasher drawers and trash pull-out.

I like that rollout with the extras behind it.

I cannot provide any further information about the layout. I kept the photo as an inspiration photo from a GW reveal. I kept a copy because I thought it was fabulous (actually her entire kitchen was fabulous).
