It's difficult to say without seeing a photo but my front entryway is eggplant and I've found that warm caramel/tan colors complement the eggplant well so that may work if those colors also complement your wood. Some med. muted golds can also look good with eggplant since golds contrast purples, and a gold may even be better if your wood has gold tones.
