Michael Merrill Design Studio tripled the size of this small, outdated bathroom. In order to make this space feel larger than it really is, we incorporated large format floor tiles - 24 X 24 floor tiles and 12 X 24 wall tiles. We always prefer square tiles for paving and rectangular tiles on wall surfaces. The floating vanity with over-scaled drawers continues the illusion that the bathroom is larger than it is. Because there is no natural light in the room, we elected to use blue-green as the accent color, which represents the green that is so abundant throughout nature and the blue of the sky above.
