I would add curtains and remove the blinds.

You've done a great job. It looks very nice. I would suggest a floor lamp between the sofa and chair and a lamp on the console instead of the large vase on the right. Lighting makes a difference.

My eyes were also drawn to the blinds (not in a good way).

I love your room. I would paint the walls that beautiful golden/beige color in your area rug. Match it to a paint chip.

I love Darzy's lamp choices for you! The room is lovely, but the dark blind is bringing it down.

Adding some of the light blue into the shelving/accessories will also make the room feel more cohesive. Repeating a color 3 times is pleasing to the eye. Not too much though. One vase, the lamp and your pillows make three.

I love it. Love the cow picture...adds personality. Maybe a live plant or two. Perhaps one on top of your shelving unit and one small one under the cow. (Does it have a name? I paint and always give my animals names beginning with an "L".)

I agree the window blinds lack style. But, with the bookcase, there isn't much area for curtains to hang without blocking the window. Plus, I think the room would feel heavy with curtains and sheer curtains will look wimpy with the leather furniture. How about matchstick blinds instead? Something like this...

Look at roman shades for the window. And I suggest that you remove at least 3 of the pillows off the sofa. and let some of it's color into the room. Get a couple that are in same colors on the chair. Also an arrangement of items on the coffee table will help. Remove that thing off the table (sorry can't see what it is) and add a couple of candleholders and a bowl or even a vase with some stems.

otherwise, mostly just feels heavy to me. don't have a good suggestion that doesn't involve actual furniture changing...

Matchstick blinds are good, definitely not curtains. If you like the rug, change the pillows to incorporate more earthy colors, not dark, dark tones, but not pastel either. Pastel colors against the color of your leather,to me, is a conflict. If you don't like the rug, still change the pillows. I like your cow picture. That with the leather makes me think of rustic charm. In which case you are on the right track.

Oh..you might try a round coffee table to offset all the square shaped in the room. ( rug,window et )

Bingo!!! Remove the blinds!! Fabric treatments are needed to make a room warm and cozy.

I'm with Auntqueenie. The leather furniture reminds me of a more ranch or rustic style like Ralph Lauren. Bolder pillows in blue jean fabric, a chunky knit throw and an antique farm coffee table. Also agree with the slightly warmer paint colour.

So I love the furniture, the colors and the pillows. Love the cow pic...maybe because I live on a mini farm. Just pull up the blinds...let in the natural light.Personally really dislike any fabric treatments. I would paint the built ins for sure to match the fireplace and TV area. My feeling on the rug is it is a bit blah...might go with a solid color and possibly the table is a tad heavy....like the idea of a round but once you lighten those built ins the table and rug might be fine . Good luck !!

You need a table to the right of the chair, and a lamp on the table. And you have nothing on your coffee table. Reinforce that awesome cow pic and get something that relates to cows or farms or barns, etc for the coffee table. Also green plants, as many as you can afford.
