Sleek ultra modern home with lots of windows is what I'd build if money were no object.

I always dream of renovating an old ruined cottage by the sea.maybe two or three walls left standing ,and a new glass roof,to watch the stars from bed.all white interior, and a large garden...cmon lottery.

Due to being disabled and having to spend a lot of time in bed I would love to design and have my own house built. I guess I came pretty close in as much as I had a bedroom and bathroom built on, and was able to add timber beams and a feature fireplace with wood burning stove, but I feel that so much of the rest of the house is just wasted space as there are only two of us, and even when we have visitors we mainly spend time in my bedroom. I also enjoy paper crafting when I can be out of bed, so a home with a big bed/living room which is open to the kitchen, and a large separate craft room that I could shut the door on the mess would be my perfect home.

we live in a victorian property & have quite a lot of plans for it. it's just money holding us back. we wanted to live in an older property. we'd never buy anything new now unless we could build our own space. lots of glass, wood, high ceilings & a woodturning stove would be my dream home.

I think it might depend whether I was living in the UK or abroad but, in any event, they'd each look very different.

We have been just moved into our new built home, it was never in our plans to build it just happened. Had cold feet a few times before we committed but the builder kept encouraging us to stick with it and I thank him so much as it has been worth it now that we are in and enjoying it.

Recently installed in our 2nd new build.... Not without incident but extremely happy now!

Ah yes, @Emmeline Westin, now that's what I call California dreaming....

dreaming....i dont mind the house at all, but what i would love would be magic garden with a shed conversion at the end and make it silly, weird, whacky and so very natural, lots of wood, water, ferns and hideaway from the 'real' house!

I am looking to renovate an old property to turn it into a family home.

An architect will always go for that option!

Build my own is the ultimate satisfaction for me.

I've already sketched a general design of what I'm going to build one day, and it all begins with a visit to my local Huf Haus office.

Glass and wood with a little bit of brick in certain places as features is the overall idea. As for the location, well, that's the million dollar answer I can't give you just yet!

Building your own home is not easy but seeing clients achieving this is be one of the most rewarding experiences for them and me..
