Forgive me, please, if this isn't the proper place for this question.

I have noticed in the last week or so that my watermelon vines have a sticky substance on many of the leaves. Any ideas what it could be from? Crimson Sweet is the variety. Two plants that have spread to cover approximately 24 x 20 area.
