According to the product label and the MSDS, it is a water based, 100% acrylic stain and sealer. As long as it is clear - no tint added - you should be fine. No leaching involved with this product, although the sealer should be redone on an annual basis for best results. Then again, many folks never seal or stain their wooden raised beds and they last reasonably well. Using cedar should get you at least 10 years of use before it starts decomposing/rotting.

Thanks, @gardengal48 -- unfortunately, it does have a tint in it :( Do you think that counsels against using it for edibles? We are considering keeping the beds and just using them for ornamental plants and building new (unstained) ones for our vegetables.

While there is no good compelling reason to paint or stain the wood used to construct a raised bed doing so will not do harm to plants growing in those raised beds, If the stain does leach unwanted stuff into the soil what ever that is will stay close to the edges and not permeate the rest of the bed, research shows that not even creosote moves very far from the source in soil.
