If you're going to rip up the floors in a few years, adding ceramic tile will make ripping them up a whole lot harder. Can you live with vinyl peel and stick tiles for the short term? Many vinyl tiles mimic the look of ceramic so you should be able to find a match fairly easily.

I would find a good quality linoleum and avoid the expense and mess of ripping up tiles if it's only going to be a few years.

Is the plywood in good shape? Make sure there are no bumps anywhere, vinyl tiles will not hide these.

Do you mean not level as in it slopes? Or not level as in dips and hills? Also, when you go to the store to purchase them check with the store to see if the plywood needs to be sealed first.

the less level your floor is, the better it will look with smaller rather than larger tiles, as large ones cannot be bent to go over hills. well, small ones cannot be bent either, but you know what i mean.

do a good job on the floor, plans sometimes change down the road and you dont want a temporary floor falling apart before future construction begins.

You need to level the floors. And you need to pull the lower cabinets and install the flooring under them or you'll trap your DW down in a hole.

If you put tile on an uneven floor, you're going to have broken tile! You need to pull up the old floor and put down cement board for your subfloor. And of course it's going to have to be level or the tile will crack.

Your best bet is to go with the faux peel and stick tile.
