Doesn't it look like you just sew some strips together to make a wide enough row, trim to the proper height of your triangle and cut triangles? They look like a reservation of tepees. :-) (I might have to try a few since I have almost all the border together for Holly's quilt but have to wait for delivery of more fabric to attach to quilt.)

I love making string quilts as a way to use all the small "useless" scraps. However, I never seem to use up all the scraps LOL.

I like that one, Sharon! I agree with city - I never seem to use up all the scraps! I think they mate in the storage bin and just produce more scraps.

What? You never use up all your scraps? LOL But we keep trying. And isn't it fun? And, who cares? I think it's important that we take time for ourselves and do something that 'we' think is fun.

Thanks for sharing that picture. I like how the "strings" are not straight and are different widths too. Also they stand out more having the green in between. I've make a couple string quilts but its always disappointing how the scrap bin never seems to get any less full, no matter how many I use. Wish I had that problem with groceries, ha.

I sure enjoyed that. In the past I used a foundation and pieced and turned. Never liked how heavy the quilt would be, too warm. This method is faster and no foundation. What is not to like? Thanks for sharing.

Char, I wonder how it would look with uncontrolled strip colors except for light on one side and dark on the other???? I might have to try that......like I need another project to work on with the 4 I have going right now. If it works out ok, it might be something I could do at the retreat......that sort of 'mindless' sewing.
