New countertops and backsplash.

I'm stuck! I need help picking out new countertops and backsplash for my kitchen. I want to go with granite, but I can decide on colors. My floors are pretty busy and there is a stone fireplace in the family room, so should I keep the countertops simple? My style tends to be more contemporary, but with warm colors. Also, need help with hardware. It's difficult to find design help locally when your not doing a full kitchen remodel. Please help!!!

Please look into quartz ,it is replacing granite everywhere in our area ..easy to clean and doesn't scratch like granite

Are you considering cutting back on the overhang size of the island top?

Are you considering changing the light fixture over the island.

Maybe a harlequin tile design for the backsplash? I think you need some darker tones in the kitchen area. I would also consider quartz instead of granite. I don't have any time to baby a work surface.

I'd like to see what your counter tops look like, but if you go with granite I'd recommend looking into a glass / stone combo mosaic backslash

We are cutting back the overhang. We are keeping the light fixture. Should I go with light countertops or dark? We have absolutely no natural light in the kitchen.

I'm looking at two options for my countertops.

Option 1: island done in Alaska Cream and the perimeter done in Dreamy Marfil Quartz.

Option 2: entire kitchen done in Colonial Cream

Any suggestions, thoughts or comments would be welcomed.

I vote again for looking at quartz. There are some gorgeous Cambria quartz designs that are very contemporary. I have Cambria and I like it better than I liked my granite.
