I really like what you have now! The wall area might be too short for a bench? I am sure that you will get some good advice!

I like how they changed up the wall and added this dark table. Maybe painting that space a couple of shades lighter.

Janet I love that arrangement!! I'm not willing to repaint though, our entryway ceilings are 2.5 stories high and it was horrible for me to paint the first time around. lol

There isn't a ton of room there, but a small bench would work.

I would turn the table 90 degrees and replace with a larger console table with a bench underneath and a lamp on the right side of the table. Here are some examples...

I notice an outlet, perhaps a lamp. I like what you have, it's clean and spare. But you could up the ante with a more ornate frame and heavier chest. Offering photo for inspiration, but wrong scale.

We had a client with a very similar set up, and here is how it came out.

I still think that what you have is far nicer than any of the photos shown. Your space is beautiful. Just add some items to the table and see if that is enough of a change. Try putting something under the table or off to the side.

Try a bright area rug and add something bold on the table.

If you want a bench then go shopping and see what you come up with. Couldn't hurt to try a few new pieces in the foyer!

How about a large green houseplant or small tree in that corner?

Proper scale of items and well chosen accessories are what`s needed here and you have ample space to work with. Purchase some larger scale items that are returnable and start playing around with your space. Try different sizes of floor vases, or beefy table with a storage ottoman under it. Forget the mirror wall and use the space along the stairs instead. Consider using a table and accessories in the color of the light trim also. Think colorful and contrast in warm muddy tones. er612 has the right idea :-) I once re-purposed a client`s old singer sewing machine table in an entry like this and we accessorized it nicely. A large bold piece of artwork on the stairway wall would go a long way to accessorize that space.

Have you thought about a small chair in the corner and move the table to the stair wall. You will get seating and keep the beautiful table. Move a chair from another room to see how it will look.

Sweet entry! Have you thought about a contrasting stair runner? Perhaps black and white with a geometrical pattern? Also, because you have such an open space, have you thought about replacing the mirror on the small wall with a full length mirror? Against the stairs I would place two small ottomans and a beautiful green palm in the corner! Examples to come :)

Rediscover Your Home when you say an art piece on the stair wall do you mean down in the entryway or on the far wall going up the stairs? I've actually thought about putting something there but it's a huge wall and figured it would have to be quite grand.

Here's a picture of the big wall, would an art piece look good here? What I really wanted was my husband to add wainscoting to add depth but as we all know how that goes sometimes. ;-)

Easiest update would be a large urn sitting on casters for rolling with a great plant. Then at Christmas time, roll it away and add a tall slim tree there!

This area has pictures going up staircase for interest and a picture by the bench to move your eye up. Simple but effective!

Not Spanish of course, but the sconces can give you some nice uniqueness to the area along with the bench, pillows, pots or glass tall vases and the floor lamp to relate to the wall sconces.

Simple but effective. Stripes on wall, detailed settee, small oil for interest and brightness and a cool sconce. A lot of oomph in a very tight area, and it looks great. Subtle banded area rug to relate to stripes on wall. Clever!

Create a raised plaster effect on the stairwall.
