Just some ideas- you could consider a different size too- instead of a common 3x6 tiles, 4x12 or 4x8, etc.

If you search for matte subway tiles at tile stores around you, you will see a wide selections to choose from.

I would also suggest considering a lighter grout color in a thinner grout line like 1/8".

You can use the ones that are beveled around the edge too to create a unique look and maybe that way the tiles will seem to be easing into the grout lines- instead of a stark contrast.

But the bottom line is, search for a tile and stone stores or warehouses near you.
