Very nice, and I am so jealous, lol! I accidently knocked off my one manila mango fruit that was almost 3 inches long :-( Now have to wait until next season.

Youseff, We have micro climates in this city by SF bay. So,officially our warmest month averages about 76f and a low of 58f. I'm inland by 3-4 miles,that pumps up the warm to maybe 77-80f in a good summer month,June-Sept. But almost all sunny days those months help.

So,really almost springtime temps for most people all summer.

what about winter... does it freeze ?

It can. Mostly within the 10a zone of 30-32f. Some years are frost free. I cant count on that. Usually 2-3 nights a year I cover small things. Last New Years day was a surprise 30f when the news had predicted 38f. This Mango took it with no burn.

btw- I cant figure out why the rootstalk's fruits are almost the same in taste as the Baileys that it once was. Although Baily's were a larger fruit and a colorful tan.

I think you should expect it have a few for picking. Its keeping the plant evenly watered. In a pot they hate going dry in California. BUT! you can see on this site many in soucal who have multiple tree's in pots,barrels and what else giving various types of fruit. Google "California yard Mangoes" and many of Rodney's and Mangodog's posts come up.

Wow. I like that it is able to produce that much fruit on a small tree like that.

Just noticed today- the larger fruit are more tan blushed. So,they weren't as close to ripe as I thought 2 weeks ago.

I tried some larger fruit- last week,still a little sour. I didn't let them sit indoors- should have. So,I'm guessing that mid September is the real picking season. Eloise,after they seemed to have stopped coloring up...they then kicked in more color this week. Now,they look more like a market Mango.

Final verdict? SWEET. Like Mango syrup,only refreshing not heavy. Smoother then most market bought fruits. I'm hoping as the tree gets size so will the fruit become larger.

So the original graft died and this fruit is from the rootstock? Do you know what the rootstock is?

Ok,this is hard to explain. In JAN 2012 it was in a pot and a 32f night killed all the top graft from what I could see- down to its last 3" of trunk- well below the graft. Whats grown back is a very similar looking and good tasting fruit tree.

I took a look at 2012 photos of its pre freeze fruiting summer today and was kind of shocked at how they seem the same.

If I'm wrong,and this is still Baileys? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to throw people off.

I wonder..if they grafted a Baileys from a mature tree on to a Baileys seedling? So people would see a graft..

As long as the fruit is good, which appears it is! The fruit on Baileys looks similar to your mango.
