Travertine floor question

We have just had travertine tile floor installed in our new house. In an attempt to get the floor without any uneven edges our tile guy sanded the edges of the tile. This made the edges a lighter shade than the rest of the tile. He thought that sealing and buffing it would take the contrast of the color of the edges away but after two coats of sealing it has not. What is the fix for this? Any ideas, remedies known?
