Peach tree suggestions needed

My Early Elberta peach tree fell over in the last storm and I need a replacement. I was thinking Desert Gold or Florida Prince. I'd like to hear everyone's suggestions on a good tasting peach for the Valley. Thanks!

Either of those is the best IMNSHO in Maricopa Co. Get it on a good rootstock.

Did Early Elberta ever produce for you?

The Early Elberta was a really good producer, I just didn't think it was the best tasting peach, so was hoping for something that really tasted good. I think I'll with the Florida Prince.

I planted 2 florida prince peach trees in late spring this year (they were given to me). I think I planted them technically too late, but they were early enough to just live through the summer. They lost most of their leaves right away, but it looks like they are starting to come out of it, and the stems are still green.

Sorry to hear about your peach tree blowing over, but thanks for sharing about it. Let us know which variety you end up selecting and how it performs (and tastes) for you. It's neat you're already looking forward to the replacement plant. I love that about gardeners. Happy gardening (and eating!).
