Because you have what appears to be heaters under the windows I would go with roman shades or just nice natural linen panels with grommets that you won’t ever close because of the heaters.I agree something much more sleek and modern. Is one of the spots for lights centered on the table, if so you could handle a great large rectangular light fixture

How about some darktaupe sofas with blue, cream and taupe pillows and then maybe look for some fabric for the drapes thathas a touch of the blue in it.or you could do a fabulous fabric for drapery panels like the one in this pic in which case I might be twmpted to add 2 pale aqua leather sofas to the other side it won’t let me add the pic in this post so read on

A chandelier with some crystal (but not too much) or glass globes would add character. Also, something with a brushed brass finish or even a mix of finishes would add interest. Something like this:

As far as the windows, it looks like you already have shades to control the sun/heat exposure. If the shades are purely to add an element of design, you could use it as an opportunity to introduce color

Given the radiators and the panels above the windows, I might leave the windows bare but add a large piece of artwork between the windows in the dining room. I would select the dining room chandelier first and then work with fairly similar lights for the other locations. Brass is coming back in style and you could go with brass to tie them all in and perhaps go with a brass/glass coffee table or a brass table lamp. Not sure what colors you lean towards in regards to couches, but cream throughout would be really nice and then add your favorite color with pillows and in your art. Look for a seating that has dark legs to compliment the dining set and it may be nice to add two chairs that also incorporated the same colors that is in your art. You may want to figure out what your seating needs are or work with an on line room planner to help you determine size of furniture and their location.

Thank you for all your help! Is there a problem in covering the heaters? Because I really don't like the look of the heaters and pannels on top. If I go for roman shades, could I cover the pannels on top?

The idea of the sofas and the colour I like a lot.

The middle lighting is not exactly centered over the tabel. Is it complicated to move it a bit?

Try to move the table first but an electrician can move the electrical you would just have to patch the ceiling.If you don’t want the hassle of removing the panels on top of the windows have the roman shades made so they fold that size and mount them on top of those panels it will give the illusion the windows are taller.

But the heaters will stay exposed. Does it not disturb? I would love roman shades. thanks for all your insite.
