^These are running most of the way up the plant...only about the upper 1/3 or so seems pretty clear of these

I trimmed away most of the dead foliage and any leaf branches that showed the outward signs of the brown decay after taking these, but there are still spots along the main stem (Such as the second picture from the bottom) that are split and decayish looking.

I do only have the three big plants...I suppose I can just leave it until it fully dies to see if I can get any more ripe fruit off it and discard the soil in this pot. I am still just very curious what it might be....

All my other plants seem perfectly healthy and show no signs of whatever this is.

Thoughts and opinions?

The white bumps on the stems are adventitious roots. They can form on stressed plants, or sometimes on perfectly happy plants. Yours are really numerous, though, and dense adventitious root formation is a symptom of tomato pith necrosis. Also, fruit blackening can mimic BER, and you mentioned seeing BER type symptoms on the fruit before you left.

It is possible. The only thing that makes me think maybe not is that the article says that affects the top of the plant??? The majority of the visible issues are on the bottom 1/3 or so. Someone on Tomatoville suggested the clear water in a glass test to see if i get "milk streams" to at least know if it is bacterial or not. I'll do that tonight.

The plant is still hanging on...still have no idea what it actually is. It was far enough away from my other tomatoes that I decided to leave it and see if I can get any other tomatoes off of it ripe and free of BER issues...so far the count is 1. There are at least 20 unripe that look ok, so I am hoping they will ripen up. The weather is starting to turn cool here, so crossing my fingers.
