Rick, the first bloom is unique, love the patterning on the flowers. I was reading up last night how the breeders crossed A. obesum with A. crispum to bring those unique markings up onto the flower and how the Harry Potter line was derived, which to me is fascinating stuff.

How couldn't you love Maung Jai? It's a keeper. The black flowered seedling? Can't believe it is blooming, do you know how old it is?

Tracy, I know. With this black single, when I received it, it had already bloomed. Rinoa picked it out for me at nursery or other and sent it, so she neede to see what the flower was like.

It is amazing. The tree is smaller than many of mine. Only shows there is no correlation to just how old these trees will be when they " chose " to bloom.

Mary, our summer this year has been crazy. We have had only a few days of rain since beginning of May and hotter than usual. Good for the Adeniums, but not for everything else.

nice one rick, every flower is unique on its own way, there's one person in FB whose expertise is on Crossbreeding Obesums, mr david clulow, not sure if he sells seeds or plants, but im pretty sure all his breeds will be save for future scions

Yes, Jericson. David Clulow is world renown for his hybridizing. He does not sell plants and it is very hard for him to send seed from Venezuela as postal dept. not easy. Often sends seed to a friend in Australia, but not often.

He has some wonderful video clips of his Grafting and Hand Pollination work.
