A home theater projector and the biggest screen that will fit in the room OF COURSE!

My hubby's requirements... as usual, the biggest TV screen possible with a comfy recliner, but also has additional TVs to play videogames simultaneously, watch another game, or put a show on to entertain wife or kids as well as a laptop with wifi to monitor fantasy leagues or stream another game. Bonuses: a bar area with well-stocked fridge, convenient bathroom, poker and/or billiards table and darts with TV viewing from any angle, and a place to display memorabilia.

Yes, he is spoiled, but he doesn't take it for granted. Many consider him to be one lucky brilliant man :)

typo, have you looked at the article. Most of these man spaces were for single men, many of them artistic studios or whole apartments, really having nothing at all to do with the typical man cave.

My husband didn't understand what three quarters of the options were on the list. Anything he's purchased which he likes is on display throughout the house, we've always considered a comfortable place for him to sit and read or lie on the couch and watch TV, he contributes to the mortgage he deserves at least that much. Most everyone needs someplace to escape, he's got it... What wasn't on the list he suggested was a work space for hobbies i.e. wood working, tieing flys, etc. One mans OTHER: work space for hobbies.

The depend on Man. Everyone has his taste. For the Begüm means sitting besides TV, Computer , play for others in Tenis or cooking in the kitchen.The room reflect you look.

Pool table! My husband wants one. I almost surprised him with one in the front living room, but luckily a friend stopped me by saying how much side room was needed around the table!

You forgot a place to play with the guns

we are huge dallas cowboy fans but love football. the living room upstairs is a blueish gray wall with 2 recliners tv stand with an abstract design for game consoles. theres a place for a mini fridge decorated with stadium pictures and dallas cowboy memorbilia. its calming bht still has the man cave feel. we all love it

Hubby would like a BIG room...divided into various spaces. A comfortable recliner chair and TV. An area for woodcarving with built-in vacuum cleaner so he can just sweep chips into the vacuum uptake hole in the wall. A computer area with all his computer accessories. A bookcase big enough to house his book collection. A table to sit by for snacks and games. A comfortable place to sit and share time with me, friends, and the grandkids (not all at once). And a small fridge for cold drinks. Good lighting.

Lol items with low wife acceptance factors - that
light up beer clock from college days, the ginormous TV , lots of dark wood, leather rustic or mission style furniture, trophies and antlers.Plaids not floral or pastels. oversized garage for that oversized truck.
Seriously hubby has good design sense but likes all those boy toys and dark , straight line masculine furniture.

I just realized that half our house is man-cave. The bar is the first thing you get to past the front door, and is half of the great room with the big TV and sound. Friends love to party here. The third bedroom is my office, filled with guitar equipment and walls lined with everything automotive. The garage ... 80% restored car and wood-working equipment and always messy. Not much gets actually done in pretty garages. This place is sawdust and paint spills.

I guess I married the right woman. No wonder why she insisted last year that the second bedroom get converted into a place for her. The bedroom set was sold, and we got a futon for guests. She set up her sewing and craft space in there. Plus the toy box for the the grandkids.

Definitely the HUGE TV. And a comfy chair or couch.

Buy a duplex and install a couple doors in the dividing wall. If the door's locked, don't bother knocking. On a more realistic view, Thank God for man caves. It's called a basement, with one side finished and one side work shop. It requires a fridge, a comfortable chair, a computer, ALL of his stuff, and a toilet. Mine doesn't much care about the big screen TV. Work benches, tools, reloading gear, safes, etc etc etc

I don't know, but I have had two husbands, and all I have ever had to do is walk through his man cave in an apron, only an apron, and he forgets all about everything there, and follows me. . . ?

Give me a quiet space with a comfy chair and ottamon where I can escape in a good book.

Now we have to redetermine a man cave RL, because that is all i ever need, a window and hot drink, fireplace in winter and heaven is where i am.

Comfy chair for SURE!

I know my hubby very well and I would be the one building or designing it, so here goes. His own room attached to house with barn door. Interior walls would be lined with duck decoys and all his signed duck prints (gorgeous). A glass case for his beloved assortment of Zolli and Purdey 410 and 28 gauge shotguns. A display of his skeet shooting trophies and patches. A big dog bed for his loyal 15 yr old spaniel. A big tv across from a big fluffy leather couch big enough for at least three or four pups and an intercom to call me then he needs something. A cell phone won't work cause I won't answer.

My husband is weird, doesn't like the huge tv's, thank goodness. His man-cave would be a big sewing room with enough room for his sewing machine, serger and leather sewing machine for saddles. Oh ,and he'd love an embroidery machine.

OMG Gramma, you said it! Why do they all claim to be watching the tv real loud but are really asleep?! My husband does this almost every night and I have to go in and turn it down.

cressina, hubby has been through 2 of those chairs, even had one with a large bag on each side. One side held the pistachios, the other the super large drink.

I find the question to this topic quite interesting. I answered "other". I think it really doesn't matter where the "man space" is or what it looks like. If the guy has an area that he frequently goes to and knows he can chew loudly, scratch, burp and pass gas without someone to hear and complain about it then they are happy. LOL. Now i realize this is probably why a relative stopped visiting me- I couldn't handle the noises LOL

It's funny because we have a room in the basement that we are going to turn into something and I wanted a big screen tv, cool bar and comfy seating. My husband insists on calling it the study and wants a desk and bookshelves and a chair for reading. He hates the idea of a bar and definitely hates the idea of a big screen for watching movies... Darn :-/ haha

Oh and let's not forget a place to smoke his cigars and drink whisky (though I guess he wants to hide it away and not display it.

Paulita is so right in the above comment, I have mainly boys in my home so they all want the sports room and I agree in regards to looking after hubby's pics and stuff he may have in regards to his family etc.. I could go on giving examples but I do honestly believe more women need to take the husband's stuff more seriously and take into consideration that they too have precious items.
