I have a question. Can this bed be made with taller legs? I like the bed but I want it base to stand at least 10" - 14" off the of the ground, and I don't want the feet of the bed to poke out past the edges of the base.

The legs and base cannot be modified, I'm afraid, BUT I will point out that:

Platform- the platform that your mattress will rest on is 12.5"h above the ground :) The rail height is 16.5"h and the mattress will recess 4" below the rails to reach the platform.

Legs poking out- The legs actually don't come out past the boundaries of the bed and are about 1.5" recessed, even though it DOES look like it suggests otherwise :)
