Place the table where it best fits the room. If you are replacing light, it is easy to move electrical box a few feet and patch the ceiling. I have done 3 in my condo. If you are doing another chandelier, don't hang it too high. The length wise position as you have it looks right.

Rule of thumb is 30-32" from table top to bottom of fixture if ceilings are 8' height, raise 3" for every 1 foot of add'l height, so if ceilings are 10' that's 36" from table top. It looks pretty good in photo

The table seems too narrow for dining and what are the raised end pieces? Now, the dog makes the space!

Turn the table over. Put feet on it if you want in the 4 corners of the raised ends. Then get a piece of laminate cut to the size or even a scrap piece of granite and voila a perfect custom table.
