I would like the assistance of the minds here to help me determine just what weed this is. The photos are of the weed as a whole and just the seed stalk. I live in central Indiana and have a KBG lawn. The root system of this particular weed is shallow and easy to pull. A couple of days after mowing, the weed leaves are fast growing and are simple to spot as they quickly outgrow the surrounding turf. Leaves are a lighter green in comparison to the grass. The seed stalk erupts from the plant very straight (in the photos I pulled the seeds away from each other to show them better).
