NEED ARNICA MONTANA GROWING SPECIFICS

Am thinking of buying some Arnica Montana seeds or plants, but have a couple of questions. I'm at 1000 ft here in zone 5a Michigan, but I see info saying this is more of an alpine plant. Can anyone tell me if they have successfully grown arnica at lower elevations in medium sandy loam that can be somewhat dry in the middle of summer (without extra watering)?

Also, I read that it can be invasive, spreading by rhizomes and reseeding. Info on that, anyone? As invasive as mint? Or somewhat less so? Reseeding doesn't concern me as much as creeping underground rhizomes.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't grown arnica, but if you go to HorizonHerbs.com they mention growing conditions for Arnica, apparently some types are able to grow at lower elevations.

Mersiepoo - thank you! I had not looked further than the A. montana. Checking Horizon Herbs at your suggestion, I see they offer Arnica chamissonis as well as the A. montana, stating that it is accepted as interchangeable with the other, but less dependent on altitude. I've bookmarked and will probably purchase from them, but would still be interested to hear if someone has had experience with growing it and knowledge of just how invasive it may be.
