I second what elle said. The shutters are awkward because they're too small to be functional, so they look sort of glued on -- I'd take them off first thing. You could consider windows with dark trim, but if not, then just up your landscaping a bit and paint your front door a great color to draw the eye. Painting the house a few shades darker would be great, but not clear whether that's in your ambitions for the moment.

The style of your windows is not shutter friendly and the shutters that are there are stick-on faux ones that are too long for the windows anyway.

I agree - they look very out of place.

Totally agree the shutters need to go. Your house will look great with just a wide trim around the windows painted a contrasting color.

Contrasting trim sounds much simpler than trying to paint all the aluminum siding!
