Conifer Suggestion

Hi everyone,

Haven't posted much in the past year, I've been been busy adding a roof over my deck and deleting all of the mulch beds in my field. Seems to look much better this way... and is more practical with clay soil.

Anyhow, my next project is to delete this mulch bed to the right of my deck. Has no real character, is blocking my meter/water hose knob, just doesn't look that great. I put it in back in 2011 and added a bunch of conifers/plants that grow 1-2" per year. Those just really don't appeal to me as I thought they would have... I prefer larger mixed conifers in the distance.

I was going to plant a spruce/pine around 12' out from the house and maybe 12' out away from the deck. It'll put me at the spot where I currently have Picea abies 'Acrocona Pusch'. I'll also delete all of those boxwoods and want to add white lattice. I just wold like a single conifer in this location... something closer to my deck. Most of my conifers are located at least 200-700' away. I can't bring them any closer because right behind my deck the yard dips down and it stays soggy during the winter/spring transition. But this spot stays dry.

Is this to close to the house? Any recommendation on a confer? I prefer to purchase from WesternEvergreen, Conifer Kingdom, Song Sparrow as I have in the past. I was thinking of something like Pinus Korainsis 'Silveray" or Picea pungens 'Margarita'. Something unique that may grow to be 5' tall and only 3' wide in 10 years. 10' tall and only 6' wide in 20 years, etc. It it gets to big in 30 years I could chop it down, I just don't want something that grows 18"+ a year.
