Best irrigation system/process for direct seeding

Hey all,

I've had pretty good success transplanting veg into the market garden this year. Direct seeding has not been as successful though... I'd love to hear people's insights into how to create conditions for optimal germination. I have one bed of beets and daikon radish (both 3 by 50 ft) that germed very well. My carrots, another bed of beets, and salanova did not germ very well (ranging from 50-70 percent). My current system is this:

Direct seed into rototilled or hand dug beds with Earthway, usually in the evening.

Hand water with hose 5 times up and down the bed

Turn on drip irrigation for 1.5 hrs

cover with floating row cover

Continue to irrigate everyday until germination with drip lines

I would think this process would create good moisture, but alas, my germination success has been inconsistent. What am I doing wrong? What am I missing in my stages? I'm thinking of investing in some sprinkler irrigation for direct seeding purposes. Would you all recommend that, and could you point me in the right direction for what kinds of sprinkler I could use?

Thanks!
