Wood burining stove / Mantel transition

I need a light weight, heat resistant fill in for the hole above my wood burner insert, currently it is just a 31"X15" sheet of black metal. I live in an farm house, I love the brick wall. My husband and I bought the mantel, early in our marriage at an antique shop, sentimental value.
