More Stapelia gigantea blooms.

I have had this group planting for several years. The staple is going bonkers with blooms this year. I stopped counting at 25 buds. I know that many will not bloom , but many will. This is on cutting that has grown its branch longer and longer curling around the pot. I think next spring I will have to cut this branch and dismember this planting and give the stapled its own pot. I hate to do this because I do like group plantings.

There are nine buds in this photo.

    Oh, the Splendor!

I hope you're able to find a way to keep it together, I'd like to see what it does next season on top of this growth! Or is that not a good plan?

I think the branch is getting very long and if it grows as much lengthwise next year as this , it will become unmanageable. I would like it to branch at its base and divide all this energy, but its form seems to be wanting to be long and serpentine with the branching far out. I am worried that it will break anyway so why not plan where it breaks and root those parts in the other areas of the pots. The cutting back will encourage branching further back..... BUT it does look cool now. AHHH, those decisions, don't you love it All that either /or stuff.

I like the road kill cactus in the pot. It gives structure and a verticality to the arrangement. I could remove the echeveria and put more cuttings in that area.

Oh it is the one with the huge flowers.

Lol, it's trying to create a 3m wide patch of the stuff, it just hasn't found the ground yet, lol. But that plant looks like it has a plan. Lol.

Here are some more shots as it is getting more fecund as time progresses. One bud was buzzing with a captured fly. God, it must have stank like a million farts inside that closed bloom. I admit to getting a kick out of pictures.

I went out and moved the fecund closed and no longer buzzing bud onto of its partners heavy encumbering arm. (You know that late night feeling.) Hopefully now the bud would open un-impeded. Later I went to check on it and the I had missed the first act , but they allowed me in at intermission. The Fat lady was getting ready to sing her solo.

Then it snapped open really fast. No time to increase the depth of field and step back and refocus. SHEESH> The camera miss fired and I got it on the second try. No time for redoes.

Then the sun came out and a star was born . All her fans were ready for the rapture.

If I do , this whole pot would become a S. ginantea and Roadkill cactus pot. The cuttings would be used in it. The statement would ultimately be bigger.

I'm hoping you can keep it all connected and reroot along the length of it. I've never seen them put out stems quite like the way yours has where it's searching for dirt lol.
