Chairs and wall clashing

I know the chairs and stenciled wall are clashing, do we need chairs in that spot? What can be the alternative? Suggestions to fill up the right wall?

you can always do a gallery wall on the right wall

as for the chairs, have them re-upholstered. Less expensive than new chairs. Find a pretty bold color (teal seems what you're happy with) in a velvet or if you have kids something more sturdy. It could all be very fun.

If the lampshades matched the white on the stencilled wall, that would make the whole room less busy again. I agree that the cushions and throw should go. Replace with monotone ones. The chairs are not bad as they are. Pity the tv is where it is.

Change the pillows with color that pops.

I don't like the lamps there at all, are they needed for lightning? I would say some green (life) is needed to soften. I am guessing this was taken at night but how bright does the room get?

Are the chairs slipcovered? You can change the slipcover, or buy slipcovered in a solid, not patterned fabric, in just about any color.

This was before the chairs, we had Palm on the left and we started getting bugs on them. My toddler had a ball digging his hands in the pot, we removed it ASAP. I was suggested to keep it balanced keeping it away from being busy. I can remove the pillows and throw and use it on the couch, can bring solid pillows too on them. Should I do just white?

HI -- I think you should get rid of the stencil ( too much and busy ) and just paint the wall that stencil dark that is there . I would also get rid of the wood chair rail molding ( not needed ) and paint the other walls one color such as a creamy tan or taupe . The chairs are great and just have a plain color lumbar pillow on each that is a color from the fabric . I like the lamps and pretty much everything else . Then just have a big painting on the right wall . Don't do a gallery wall , they are going out and your room isn't big enough to carry that .

Sorry but the stenciled pattern doesn't appear to have much relationship to your selections. Here is an alternate accent wall and I have moved your TV down so it's connected visually to the cabinet.

HI -- Ok fine I understand about the stencil ... I don't care for it but it is your home but at least think about this idea , but you must be brave . Paint the other walls the dark that is in the stencil wall . It will be dramatic and high end . The chairs are fine and are not clashing . What is clashing is the accent cushions and throw . Wrong color and the pattern is not for this room. As I said before just some plain (maybe velvet) lumbar cushions. And still doing the other things I mentioned before and the room will be stunning .

Remove the chairs altogether. There's too much furniture in the room.

I'm not a pro, but I like the stencil as it is. Color is good and the pattern is a pop of contemporary. I like the room. I prefer a different shape of chair though. The ones shown look so straight back that they look uncomfortable...to me.

i like your stencil! i really like the how the room looks in your last picture. i see how tied in the colors of your painting.

I like the stencil. I like the way it diminishes the impact of the large TV without some overtly clumsy attempt to hide it.

IMO those chair worked much better in the other room. They don't complement the bright green sectional sofa.

Okay so stencil stays. Chairs are moved. I decluttered the console. Right wall, I was leaning towards gallery wall. TV wall was the focal of the room, we toned down the walls adjacent. The dark color on the wall is too strong and painting the other walls will make the room appear too dark and small, I want the room to look decluttered, clean and balanced. If I need to put chairs back, I will look for solid pillows(brown velvet). I know TV is little high but it is secured with mounting brackets and can't be lowered. Accessories placed were very thoughtful to anchor the TV to the console, I haven't still scored on a tall accessory to do this. Attached pics of the entire room.

I really like the stencil! I like the first picture except for pillow choices. A brown lumbar pillow in chairs would look great. I like the lamps. Not crazy about some of the pillow choices on the couch. Maybe pillows with a shinier slicker fabric on the couch.

I'm with Lefty47 - the stencil is overwhelming the room.

I think the stencil is cool! I'm not sure if it is because I don't like the chairs or they just look very odd in that position?!

I would consider putting a brown medium frame around the canvas, to give it more visual weight and to counter-balance the bold stencil.

Hi Fanie, I agree with karma2020's comments. The lamp shades in a lighter color would be make the room more harmonious. The pattern in the pillows is too much. Interesting stencil! Good luck!

I think that the chairs are fine, it's just too much pattern. Maybe more subtle throw pillows and I'd consider doing wall sconces versus the two lamps. Love the stenciled wall!

I also think the chairs are fine. I think you need to paint the stenciled wall the same as the as the other three. The chairs have several colors .including the sofa color. I would see if I could find the fabric of the chairs and make pillows to match. Find a table for the lamp on the right. Craftlady
