Ugh. I feel your pain. I was on the hunt for one too, for almost two years. Haven't found one yet. So, we don't have a working doorbell. We moved into a house with a broken doorbell, I have had 3 different people come out to fix it and they all say the wiring disappears into nowhere and they will have to break through walls to find it. No thanks. I did get a nice brass lion knocker to placate myself. Good luck with your quest!

wireless doorbells

Are you talking about the interior or exterior portion? We mounted a button to a wood mini-plaque from the craft store that I painted. We needed something larger to cover the hole where the previous button was and this gave iss a nish finished look that tied in with out door paint and light fixtures.

In our last house, we have to replace with wireless or replace an entire intercom system. We mounted the chiime portion above a door with deep decorative molding to minimize what could be seen.

The site olychick posted is interesting. But I don't get the "cat with bat wings". Say what?

There are two neighbors where I live who purchased wireless doorbells. Evidently the frequency set by the manufacturer is the same for all products because when one neighbor's door bell is pushed, both homes indoor chimes ring.

I would try moving the chime (the receiver) like cliff and joann did. If they both move them to the side of the house farthest from each other, It might be enough to make a difference. They should also see if the frequency or anything can be changed. In the meantime, I guess there is added security is stangers are at the door. Someone will always be watching. LOL

Mine is mechanical

My whole neighborhood has wireless doorbells. They are similar to garage door openers, in that each of us can set or reset our own codes. We are not ringing each other's doorbells or opening each other's garage doors. I don't know the brand.

I am talking about the external button part. The link from olychick has some nice ones but they only want a surface mounted one that sticks on. Honeywell has one that is a bit nicer looking than the plain white plastic button. I was hoping for a nice metal one.

I have a vintage one similar to the above on our side door. Only a few can figure out what to do with it.

I have a small, old, school bell at our front door (our front door is a barn door so it its kinda offbeat to start with). No one ever wants to ring it.

Finally, we got something you hide under your doormat. When someone steps on it, it rings. However, we turn it off unless we are having a party ... otherwise the dog rings the bell. : )

I need one on the inside for the dog to step on! :)

4boys2 - our house isn't that modern but This still might work. I really like the looks of that!

The door and trim are a dark bronze (looks like a soft black). Door hardware is satin nickel. Sidelite is a relatively simple but more classic style with patina camping. So white would look really out of place.

You can replace the plain buttong with amore decorative one.
