In the meantime, here are many pages of nurseries based on a neutral background -- neutral, but not boring! See what you gravitate to; many of these examples would work nicely for a combo boy and girl room. I particularly like the wide stripes -- I have almost the same look for one of my grown-up guest rooms, which makes the whole point of making foundation choices you can build on. Right now, the accents are mahogany and tangerine with a mix of silver and gold, but for kids could easily be a blue and red, or turquoise and lime...good luck, you'll have a lot to manage for a while -- take lots of photos of them and enjoy them!

Beige and white is a really great combo. I am also getting lot of requests for yellow and grey from my nursery clients (which seems to be very gender neutral). Here are a few photos from an amazing photographer that could work for both a boy and girls.

You could use these as your inspiration and stay in the beige tones for the rest of the nursery. You can even just do white or grey bedding with white quilts and a monogram for each child on their quilt. Think gingham check, even navy will work, or a gingham check in beige or grey. I do love the wallpaper but think it is much more girly than boyish. If you were having all girls this would be amazing! I actually used a similar one in a nursery years ago and we did a Tiffany's theme, It was gorgeous but definitely not gender neutral. Maybe do the walls in that light robins egg blue or find another wallpaper that is a little less frilly. The color is perfect though!

Another idea just popped into my head, and logging on to the thread, I see it's quite similar to what A. Peltier has shown you. Only the animals would all be in sets of three...

Kathy Van Ness, you can search houzz from anywhere but to actually buy any products you see you will be going to the manufacturers website and not purchasing through Houzz.

I like the last photo you posted. I make it more neutral you can paint the walls grey and add the Tiffany blue you liked earlier as an accent. But I actually think this room is pretty neutral as I like blue for a girls room.

Rosepe, that is a great room you posted. I think you can easily make that gender neutral. I would find a wallpaper like the one shown, maybe it could even be a little more turquoise like the first picture you posted. Then you can adding a neutral grey and white to the space to ground everything. From there I would pick a color for the girls that you like and a color for the boy. So lets say you like a soft green for your boy, I would do white or neutral bedding for every one and then add in a pillow, stuffed animals or embroidery in a green color. Then maybe for the girls you want one to have yellow accents, so you would do the same thing with yellow and maybe the other will have a lavender color and do the same thing. When it comes to tying everything together you can find some artwork that has ALL of those colors in it. I am posting a few pictures for you to see...

There is an image of paintable wallpaper. You can choose any color you want and still get that wallpaper look. It has a geometric pattern like the one in the photo you attached and will look great on the wall behind the crib. But there are lots of patterns out there to choose from when it comes to paintable wallpaper.

The abc bedding I posted above was super cute and you could still do the animal prints I showed above or just going with an alphabet theme. Stay neutral or grey with your other major things like drapes and a rug and add your soft turquoise color tot he walls. I hope this helps, post if you have more questions!

That could work really well! But it all depends on the rest of the colors too. You will find a lot of natural linen fabrics in that color so it will be easy to work with.

Can I use the wallpaper that I showed earlier with floral pattern and paint the rest in natural gray? What is natural gray looks like! And which carpet and curtains should I choose ?

For that damask wallpaper that you showed earlier, I do really like it but Your room will be VERY feminine when you start to add in all of the pinks and girly touches. I would strongly consider a more geometric print, still in that color. As for the rest of the walls, I would probably do the wall color in the same as the wallpaper. So just try and match it. Use that natural grey/linen color on fabrics and bedding or a bed skirt, even your drapery panels. If you paint the walls that color next to the blueish color of the wallpaper I think it will chop up your space too much.
