I have built a new basement - lifted house, new foundation, etc. It is now full height, daylight - about 40" below grade. It is approximately 1500 squarefeet. I went with the open concept for one side. There is a TV area, game area, bar and wine cellar. I have no idea how big to make the bar. The space is really large, but I don't want the bar to be too big. Plus, placement of the columns limit my options As drawn, there is a lot of wasted space in front of the wine cellar. I am debating making the bar smaller and moving it close to the wine cellar by about three feet. There will still be adequate clearance.

Or I could scrap the bar and just leave the wine cellar and open space. I have no kids, and am more concerned with resale.
