You need to brighten up your space to make it feel larger. a really budget friendly way to update would be paint cabinets white with new hardware. Get rid of counter/backsplash. Get a nice with subway tile for back splash very easy to apply yourself. then go a cream counter with black and brown veining (there so many out there just not too dark :) ) and paint your walls the pretty blue color in you swatch or keep it simple with a nice tan and go with a lot of color in your pieces!
